ROTARY HIGHLIGHTS: The Relevance of a District Handover

SDG Albert S. Alday

Year in and year out as Rotarians of worth and prominence, we begin a Rotary year with a grand celebration known as the District Handover and Induction Ceremonies. Often clad in our best attire and held at posh venues, we eagerly troop to the site of the celebration and party to our heart’s delight oblivious of the significance and relevance of beginning this chapter in a continuing Rotary story.

United for Good: Watch Out for Misinformation

SDG Eric Tayag

Misinformation refers to false or misleading information that is spread unintentionally or deliberately, on social media or, by word of mouth. Make no mistake, misinformation has no place in Rotary District 3810, now under the aegis of our dynamic District Governor Mary Mei Rodrigo. It doesn’t echo our collective slogan for the whole Rotary community: “UNITED FOR GOOD”. Albeit you will agree that everyone struggles on what is misinformation and what it is not. Beginning in this maiden issue of GML, a series of articles on MISINFORMATION will serve as education for all of us. After all, knowing what we are dealing with, is the first step in addressing its untold consequences.

Beyond Boundaries

DGE/AKS “Bing” Nieva Carrion

As we usher in Rotary Year 2025-2026, we are encouraged to reflect on this year’s powerful theme: United for Good. We ask ourselves the question: why do we need to unite? The response is because there is strength in numbers. There is power in being United. If we all cooperate with one another, share ideas, thoughts, resources, energy and passion to serve the marginalized members of society, this world will be a better, safer and happier world for all of us.

Empowering the Next Generation: How Rotaract Transforms Youth

Monica Paula A. Serrano

Rotaract has played a vital role in my journey, shaping me into the leader I am today. My story started as an Interactor at Imus National High School, where I first experienced the power of service. That initial spark of community involvement led me to become a dedicated Rotaractor and, eventually, the District Rotaract Representative for Rotary International District 3810 in Rotary Year 2025–2026. Serving as President of the Rotaract Club of Imus during Rotary Year 2020–2021 with the theme “Rotary Opens Opportunities”, I saw firsthand how youth can channel their energy and creativity to create real change. Whether through community service, fundraising, or advocacy, we learned that opportunities open when we come together with a shared purpose.
