Brigada Pagbasa: Project Tara na! Basa na! Empowers Young Readers

In preparation for the upcoming school year, the Rotary Club of Dasmariñas Cavite (RCDC), in

partnership with the Rotaract Clubs of Dasmariñas City and Dasmariñas Prime, along with the

Parents for Youth Movement (PAYO), launched “Brigada Pagbasa: Project Tara na! Basa na!” —

a literacy initiative held at Dasmariñas Elementary School from May 26 to June 13, 2025.

The project aimed to improve the English reading proficiency of 36 young elementary students.

RCDC generously provided school supplies, instructional materials, and snacks, while PAYO

volunteers stepped in as reading mentors.

More than a literacy drive, the program offered students a nurturing space to learn and grow.

For RCDC, the project fulfilled two goals: uplifting literacy while fostering deeper community

involvement.

“Project Tara na! Basa na!” is a shining example of how Rotary and its partners unite to shape

young minds and build a brighter future through education.
