Empowering Rotary Clubs for Greater Impact: TRF Grant Management Seminar Draws Record-Breaking Attendance
SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia, Pasay City | May 24, 2025
On the afternoon of May 24, 2025, the expansive halls of the SMX Convention Center at the Mall of Asia buzzed with anticipation and energy as nearly 400 Rotarians and Rotaractors from across Rotary International District 3810 gathered for the TRF Grant Management Seminar — an inspiring and record-breaking milestone that marked the district’s largest grant training seminar in recent memory.
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Lubang Island, the seminar was a triumph of vision, collaboration, and meticulous execution. Led by SDG Mayla Tarriella and PP Babes Calledo, the host club’s extraordinary effort in welcoming and managing a turnout of this magnitude was nothing short of remarkable. The resounding success of the event was a testament not only to their leadership, but to the spirit of unity and commitment that defines District 3810’s incoming leaders.
A particular highlight was the presence of over 40 Rotaractors, brought in through the tireless efforts of DRRE Monica — a powerful sign of the district’s commitment to intergenerational collaboration and youth empowerment in Rotary.
The training sessions themselves were expertly delivered by a dynamic and deeply respected Training Team under the stewardship of Past District Governor Karen Tamayo. Through practical modules, engaging discussions, and real-world case studies, attendees were equipped with the technical knowledge, ethical frameworks, and strategic guidance needed to navigate the full spectrum of The Rotary Foundation’s grant processes. From understanding District and Global Grants, to proposal writing, financial management, and sustainability reporting, every facet was tackled with depth and clarity.
Behind the scenes, the seamless flow of the program was made possible through the dedication of the SAA team led by SCGA Ayet, alongside the tireless Raha volunteers, and the ever-efficient Administrative Secretariat composed of Sol, Michelle, Bing, and Joy — whose quiet contributions ensured that every detail was attended to with care.
The success of the event was also buoyed by the presence and support of the District’s full machinery: the Operations SDGs, the ManCom, and the rest of the United Chosen District Officers, whose teamwork and shared commitment created an atmosphere that was both inspiring and empowering. Their solidarity reflected the very essence of this year’s theme: “Unite for Good.”
The presence of the United Chosen Presidents further underscored the gravity and importance of the occasion. Their participation — marked by thoughtful engagement and visible enthusiasm — served as a powerful affirmation of their readiness to lead with integrity and impact in Rotary Year 2025–2026.
At the heart of it all stood District Governor-Elect Mary Mei V. Rodrigo, whose leadership, vision, and encouragement have galvanized the district into action months ahead of term. Beside her, First Gentleman and United Chosen President Alex Rodrigo offered steady support and served as a source of strength and solidarity throughout the journey.
As the afternoon came to a close, DGE Mary Mei offered heartfelt gratitude to all who contributed, echoing the sentiments of everyone present: “This isn’t just about compliance or paperwork — this is about ensuring that every act of service is well-supported, well-stewarded, and capable of leaving a lasting impact. Let us continue to serve with excellence, with unity, and with heart.”
The TRF Grant Management Seminar of May 24 was not just an event. It was a convergence of minds, a celebration of service, and a declaration of intent: that District 3810, under the leadership of its United Chosen Presidents and Officers, is prepared — not just to meet expectations, but to exceed them, with integrity, collaboration, and boundless heart.
Indeed, as District 3810 continues its march toward Rotary Year 2025–2026, it does so emboldened by a singular truth: when we Unite for Good, we uplift not only the communities we serve — but one another.
