UNITE FOR GOOD
Beyond Boundaries
By DGE/AKS “Bing” Nieva Carrion
As we usher in Rotary Year 2025-2026, we are encouraged to reflect on this year’s powerful theme: United for Good.
We ask ourselves the question: why do we need to unite? The response is because there is strength in numbers. There is power in being United. If we all cooperate with one another, share ideas, thoughts, resources, energy and passion to serve the marginalized members of society, this world will be a better, safer and happier world for all of us.
Let us forget about our differences, challenges, hurts, quarrels and betrayals. Let us focus as one Rotary family- unified to create this Circle of Love and Kindness that will light up our lives and uplift us as good, well- meaning human beings.
All of us Rotarians are called to serve. When we swore as members of our respective Clubs, we promised to do good in the world. We must therefore fulfill this promise.
There are 3000 Rotarian members in our District 3810, composed of 117 Clubs located in Manila, Pasay, Cavite and Occidental Mindoro. Can we imagine what we can all accomplish if we unite for good?
As committed Rotarian leaders we “build” systems, habits and cultures that prevent problems from cropping up. As strategic thinkers we think of the best ways to create an environment where problems solve themselves. We always work to lead with purpose, with discernment and kindness in our hearts. When we do this, we cannot fail because the members realize the power of our objective.
Let us challenge ourselves to work towards unity. United we are strong and balanced. Divided we are weak and disorganized. Let us be Rotarians for others. Let us think beyond borders. Let us work together with love, kindness, compassion and peace. Let our pure selves shine through. Let us be Rotarians in word, mind and action.
