First Presidents-Elect Fellowship of District 3810: An Evening of Camaraderie, Celebration, and Commitment

SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia | October 15, 2024 | 6:00 PM – 11:00 PM

In a spirited and vibrant display of Rotary fellowship, the first official gathering of the Presidents-elect and appointed District Officers of Rotary International District 3810 for Rotary Year 2025–2026 was successfully held on the evening of October 15, 2024, at Meeting Hall 3, Function Room (F3) of the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia. The highly anticipated fellowship, aptly themed “Meet & Greet: Building Bonds, Bridging Visions”, was graciously hosted by District Governor-Elect Mary Mei V. Rodrigo.

The event marked a significant milestone as it formally brought together, for the very first time, the incoming presidents from the various Rotary Clubs of Manila, Pasay, Cavite, and Occidental Mindoro — united under District 3810 — as well as the newly appointed District Officers who will serve alongside them in the forthcoming Rotary year. It was more than a ceremonial gathering; it was a celebration of shared vision, emerging leadership, and enduring Rotary values.

The evening began with a warm welcome from DGE Mary Mei Rodrigo, who set the tone with an inspiring message of unity and preparation. She emphasized the importance of building relationships early on, fostering mutual support, and energizing each other toward the common goals of service and impact. “This evening is not just about names and titles,” she remarked. “It’s about stories, synergy, and the seeds of collaboration we plant today for the Rotary year ahead.”

Each President-elect was then given the opportunity to formally introduce themselves — sharing not only their name and club, but also their unique leadership story, professional background, and initial goals for their club’s Rotary Year 2025–2026. The introductions, rich with enthusiasm and heartfelt aspirations, set a collaborative atmosphere that would define the rest of the night.

Following the formal segment, the evening transitioned into a lively celebration. A sumptuous buffet dinner featuring a wide array of Filipino and international cuisine delighted guests, while spirited conversations and new friendships filled the room with energy. The night was punctuated by entertaining games that brought out the lighter, more playful sides of the leaders, allowing for laughter and bonding outside formal settings.

Raffle prizes — ranging from Rotary-themed items to practical and indulgent gifts — were drawn throughout the evening, adding excitement and cheer to the program. The highlight of the fellowship, however, came through the vibrant dance and song numbers performed by the very participants themselves. From classic duets to spirited group performances, the Presidents-elect and District Officers showcased not only their leadership potential but also their willingness to step out of their comfort zones for the sake of fun and fellowship.

The program concluded with a toast to friendship and a collective commitment to the ideals of Rotary. As the night drew to a close, it was evident that bonds had been formed, and a collective spirit had been kindled — one that would carry the District’s future leaders into their respective roles with confidence, collaboration, and heart.

In many ways, the First Presidents-Elect Fellowship was more than just an icebreaker; it was a celebration of the journey ahead. Under the stewardship of District Governor-Elect Mary Mei Rodrigo, District 3810 is poised for another remarkable year — rooted in unity, strengthened by fellowship, and driven by service above self.
